Another side of a "clean" train station

Newsstands, kiosks, "lapaks" and semi-permanent buildings around the train station almost across Jakarta were demolished recently. Traders are prohibited from selling either on the platform or on the train. Buskers and beggars could not do business there as usual. It seems that the authorities want to curb the station that had been considered messed up.

On the one hand, this is a relief for some passengers, especially those of the economy class-train commuters who are overcrowded every peak hours. The presence of traders, beggars and buskers who wade along the carriages often disturbing. On the other hand, of the human side, this is a violation againts human rights. Anybody is free to earn a living wherever they want, are they?

I took thus photo in the station of Tanjung Barat, Jakarta. This is starting point where I go to work every morning, and here is too I see the dynamics of the development of an electric train in Jakarta. A similar incident happened to almost every station in Jakarta, but the station UI, there is a story of its own, just stick around to find out.
